Countryside Access Team to enhance the local network of footpaths and bridleways. Our
dedicated volunteers gather on the first Thursday of every month at 09:45 to carry out a
range of tasks outlined by the Access Team, typically wrapping up by 13:30.
These activities include:-
• Clearing overgrown vegetation
• Erecting directional fingerposts and markers
• Installing "kissing gates"
• Repairing stiles, gates, and small bridges
• General path maintenance, such as constructing steps
All tools and materials are provided by the Countryside Access Team and our Volunteer
Coordinator. Were always excited to welcome new members to our team! No prior experience is needed.
Joining us is a great opportunity to learn new skills, explore different areas around the
Borough, and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from contributing to your

For your comfort and safety while volunteering, we recommend wearing old
clothes (avoid shorts), sturdy footwear (steel-toe boots or shoes are ideal if available), and bringing
weather-appropriate gear such as waterproofs, sun hats, or sun cream. While protective
gloves are available, many volunteers prefer to use their own. Don't forget to pack drinks
and snacks for our morning break.
